Hello there, summer friends!
I wanted to get a post up giving the title of the book we will be using in study on the blog this summer. A dear friend told me about this book, and it looks absolutely perfect for our summer blog. The book we will be reading together is Character Makeover, 40 Days with a Life Coach to Create the Best You. This book was written by Katie Brazelton and Selley Leith. It is an eight week Bible study that tackles one important character quality each week. Though the authors in their introduction mention that readers may read the chapters in any order they like, we will be reading the chapters in order so we can talk about them together on the blog. The study is divided into five different relationships: "Relationship with God, Relationship with Myself, Relationship with Others, Relationship with Things, Relationship with the Future." Throughout the Bible study we will deal with growing in greater humility, confidence, courage, self-control, patience, contentment, generosity and perseverance. One great aspect of this book is that it is also broken down into daily Bible studies for Monday through Friday all contained within the book, so there is no buying of a separate study guide! Character Makeover is available through Amazon for about $10. I am sure it can be ordered through local Bible bookstores as well.
I am excited to get started on the new adventure God will take us on this summer! I know that God's blessings will be given as we seek to know and love Him more. It will be fun to be "together" each week even when we are thousands of miles apart. The beauty of the internet...sometimes you just gotta love it:) We will get started during the week of June 12- 18. During this week we will be discussing "humility." Hopefully, anyone who would like to join us will have their book by then.
I will write another post later about the practical and mechanics of sharing the "Together We Are One Wise Woman" blog. Since I am a "newbie" myself at the blog world...this should be an interesting experience. I do have a daughter-in-law who is adept at blogging, and, God bless her, she has been wonderful to help me out in the past.
As always I am open to any ideas and thoughts you have on how to make this summer's Bible study a better experience for us all. I would love to hear from you. Until the next post...God richly bless your open hearts and deepest desire to follow and love Him better!
