How blessed we are to have friends who lift us up, who speak truth to us, who listen, give advice, encouragement and their constant prayers. This is richness; this is true treasure to have such wonderful women in your life.

Introduce Yourself!!!!

Hello, my friends!!!

Let's get to know one another!  I am certain you are all busy ladies, but can I ask you to take a few moments to introduce yourself to the others who will be joining us this summer on the blog? Let's do something a little different and have some fun:)  Along with giving a short bio of yourself, tell us the best piece of advice you were ever given about marriage, parenting or relationship with others in your life...Boss?  Mother-in-law?  Teachers?  Difficult Neighbors?

Each week I will try to have up a post asking a new question for you girls to answer.  Please feel free to enjoy this blog.  I would love to hear from you and I am sure the other girls would as well.  After all, this blog is entitled TOGETHER we are one wise woman:)

Have a blessed week, Sisters!!!

  1. Hi Blog Sisters!

My name is Cherri and I have lived in the Antelope Valley my entire life, with the exception of the four freezing months I spent in South Dakota in the early months of my marriage to Peter. Speaking of Peter, I have been married to this darling for over thirty-seven years. I have six children and nine wonderful grandchildren...oh, my children are wonderful as well:). Any day we are expecting our tenth who will be arriving from Korea...our Daniel! Peter and I recently moved out into the country with our two Australian Shepherds, Ben and Livvie. I have the best job in the world working at my church in the women's and family ministries. I enjoy my work at the church with women and families, hiking, gardening, playing with my dogs, working with my man on our mini-ranch, Tuesday morning Bible study, my mornings with just the Lord and me, playing my "cleaning the house" worship music LOUD and singing along with all my might and hanging out with my hilarious family. The best piece of advice I ever received was one morning from the Word. I was praying for one of the many crisis in my life and fretting like a crazy woman. That morning my devotions brought me to Psalm 37. There is a whole lot of "Do not fret" in these verses, but the one verse that got to me was "Trust in the Lord and DO GOOD." I took that piece of advice and began to look and pray for ways to "do good," and you better believe He showed me a ton. Before I knew it, I was not fretting over my crisis, instead I was caught up in what the Lord had for me to do. I've never been the same since:) Which makes everyone in my family much happier:)...because I really wasn't so much of a fretter ONLY...Oh no...I like to fix too. I could not let things alone and let God do what He wanted to do in His time. I fretted and frantically fixed (How's that for some appropriate alliteration and toxic mix for crazy?) Now it is your turn!!!

  2. HI! My name is Linsey. I am 28 and live in Boise ID with my handsome and tenacious husband, Eric as well as our amazing daughters Alayna (5) and Kaylan (3). We will be moving in the fall for a new adventure since Eric got accepted to Medical School!
My quest for the past few years has been to find out who God made be to be instead of who i think people want me to be. I suspect it will be a lifelong journey but am thankful for the freedom He has given me so far.
The best piece of advice i have received (that i can think of at the moment) was originally for my relationship with Eric, but has come in handy throughout all my relationships... "Don't be afraid of conflict, for with it brings HOPE for change". From this, I am learning to be honest and speak up when needed instead of living in fear of "rocking the boat". I truly believe this has had a big part in keeping our marriage in tact and helping us both grow.

  3. Hi Linsey!!!

Congratulations to Eric for this amazing accomplishment!!! I love the advice you shared. Too often we think the "Christian" thing to do is to sit back and do nothing. So we stuff and stuff and stuff and then one day the whole thing blows or we blow into a million pieces. What a great lesson to learn early...living out our relationships with honesty and without fear...Great word, my friend!!!!

  4. Good Morning!!!
I'm Lynn.... I have lived in the Antelope Valley for almost 26 years. I am married to a wonderful man, Mike for 27 years. I have been attending The Vineyard for about 6 years now and have NEVER enjoyed a church family more. I enjoy reading, listening to music, working around the yard and the house. I am a very active person. I am looking forward to this blog and the chance to grow a little deeper. The best advice I've ever been given is probably also the simplest: Count your Blessings!!!

  5. Hi Lynn!

Sometimes the simplest wisdom is the most profound:) Thank you for sharing such a wonderful reminder. So often we fixate on what is going wrong instead of all that God has done and is doing! This is a great segue into next weeks chapter:) Love having you on the blog as always!!!
